Escape from the LKF crowd and Wan Chai red light district, Guay in Tai Hang is the best place to unwind and have an actual conversation over a drink or two. Guay is a tiny little bar located on Sun Chun Street in Tai hang, one of the city’s most friendly neighbourhoods. Seats are limited but if you don’t mind standing by the bar or by the street (which is perfectly fine for me), then you’re good. Go early and secure the armchair seat, oh-so-cozy!
Apart from its prime location and comfortable setting, their extensive drink menu is another highlight. There is a range of tantilsing cocktails made with fresh ingredients and composed by the experienced mixologist. The menu has everything from girly picks to masculine boozes, classic recipes to creative creations – there’s something for everybody. They also offer nibbles for hungry drinkers to munch over or to absorb the excessive alcohol in the body. I usually go for drinks after dinner, so never gotten the chance to try their food, SHAME! Don’t expect ordinary “bar food”, they have a great selection of hipster’s favoruites– Truffle fries caught my eyes, and more enticing options include, hand cut chips, ham’n’cheese, fish tacos and crab meat & avocado on toast… wait, whattttttt! I’m going tonight for food and booze. Their chef also doubles at Pop It – that should tell you something.
Looking for a delicous cocktail at a cool neighbourhood spot? This place is for you.
